Mano Menezes calls up São Paulo sensation Lucas to face Scotland (Márcia Feitosa/VIPCOMM)

Brazil coach Mano Menezes has named his squad to face Scotland on 27 March 2011, in London. Still apparently experimenting with team selection, he sprung a couple of surprises in leaving out Robinho for the first time and calling up the uncapped u20 star Lucas. He also called up the uncapped Jonas (Valencia, ex-Grêmio) and Henrique (Cruzeiro) and recalled Lucio, Elano and Maicon for the first time after the last year’s World Cup. Elano’s form for new club Santos has been excellent since he returned to Brazil in an otherwise very disappointing start to the season from Santos.

The full squad is as follows:

Julio César (Inter Milan)

Jefferson (Botafogo)

Victor (Grêmio)

Daniel Alves (Barcelona)

Maicon (Inter Milan)

André Santos (Fenerbahçe)

Marcelo (Real Madrid)

Thiago Silva (Milan)

David Luiz (Chelsea)

Luisão (Benfica)

Lúcio (Inter Milan)

Lucas (Liverpool)

Ramires (Chelsea)

Sandro (Tottenham)

Henrique (Cruzeiro)

Elias (Athletico Madrid)

Elano (Santos)

Renato Augusto (Bayer Leverkusen)

Jadson (Shakhtar Donetsk)

Lucas (São Paulo)

Alexandre Pato (Milan)

Nilmar (Villarreal)

Neymar (Santos)

Jonas (Valencia)
